Privacy policy

Version 2026-10-07. This policy covers zela-care.com and the waitlist. Zela does not yet provide care services; before it does, this policy will be updated before we ask for any other data. Use of the website is also governed by the Terms and conditions.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Luis Filipe Alves, as a private individual, until the company that will run Zela has been incorporated. Once it exists, the company becomes the controller: we will update this policy and tell everyone on the waitlist before the change takes effect.

What data we collect

• Your email address.
• The profile you chose (family member, the person who needs care, or caregiver).
• Your town or municipality, if you give it (optional).
• The language you used, and the date and version of this policy when you gave consent.

The server also records the IP address of whoever submits the form, solely to limit automated bulk submissions. It is used at that moment and is not kept alongside your registration.

We do not ask for health data, payment details or any other personal data on the waitlist.

Why, and on what legal basis

We use this data only to confirm your registration, tell you about Zela's launch and reply to anything you ask. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting anything done before.

Who has access

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. For the waitlist to work, we use these providers, who process data on our behalf:

• Cloudflare — hosts the website and receives the form.
• Resend — delivers the registration notice to our mailbox and the confirmation email to you.
• Zoho Mail (European Union data centre) — the mailbox where registrations are kept.

Cloudflare and Resend are companies based in the United States. Transfers of data outside the European Union are covered by each company's data processing agreement, which includes the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and by their participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep it

We keep your data until we launch in your area and, at most, for 24 months after you join — or until you ask to leave, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict the processing of or port your data, object to the processing, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to support@zela-care.com. We reply within one month at most. You also have the right to complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (www.cnpd.pt).

Cookies

This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools, and it does not load content from third parties. That is why we don't ask for cookie consent.

Languages

This policy is available in Portuguese and English. If the two versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
